Week 31/32 Hudson Honors

I have reached my final blog. It is in my pleasure that I get to announce the following for the 2017/2018 Hudson Honors!

Most Interesting Part: The most interesting part for Comp/Novels is watching movies with our books. I thoroughly enjoy watching movies with books because 1- we get out of class for a few days to relax and 2- you never really realize how 2 different stories (books and movies/episodes) connect.

Hardest Part: The hardest part of Comp/Novels to me was reading The Catcher in the Rye. I fell behind in the reading portion because a lot was assigned to yourself and I never understood what was happening when we discussed.

Thing I Learned or Improved Upon the Most: I think, as most people would say is grammar. I couldn't enough say how much I've improved in that. I remember I didn't even know what an adverb was my sophomore year. Although it was tedious and made me want to rip my hair out, I greatly appreciate the 3 years I had to learn and attempt to perfect my grammar overall.

Favorite Memory: My favorite memory would have to be just sitting in class and random interruptions with bursts of laughter from Hudson. I think if there's one thing I will miss from high school, it would definitely be this.

Best Thing About Hudson as a Teacher: How enthusiastic and positive she can be even during hard or emotional times. Never fails to try and pump up the class on a boring quiet Monday. How much she cares for each student individually and pushes each of us to do our best and turn in our work. Also when she hints us in tests because, lord knows second guessing ourselves is toxic.

Thing Hudson Could Improve for Future Classes: Hudson could try to lessen the work load. This year wasn't too bad, but reading wise, to be completely honest, I barely read because there were too many chapters at a time or I just wasn't interested in the book. Plus the tiny words discourage me to read 3 chapters at a time because it makes me sleepy and there is just too much to read.

Any Final Comments for Hudson: I am so glad that you've been my English teacher for 3 years. You have helped me, taught me, encouraged me, pushed me, and never gave up, for all 3 years. You have definitely made a mark in my heart, and will be a teacher I talk about in the future as a positive influence on me. Thank you, a million times, for being such a wonderful teacher to me.
